The Spanish actress Karla Sofía Gascón has been nominated this Wednesday for the Bafta Awards, the most important in British cinema, in the category of best leading actress for her role in the film Emilia Perez. Conclavethe English film by Edward Berger, leads the nominations with 12 nominations, including best film, director and leading actor, for the work of Ralph Fiennes. The Spanish-British film also appears on the revealed list Byedirected by the Spanish José Prats, in the category of best British animated short film.
Jacques Audiard’s film, in which Gascón stars, receives 11 nominations in total, including best film. Zoe Zaldaña and Selena Gómez have also been nominated in the supporting actress category. Emilia Perez will also compete for best foreign language film with the Brazilian film I’m Still Here (I’m still here)by Walter Salles, who returns to feature film direction with this film after ten years.
The films with the most nominations are completed with The Brutalist, that will compete for nine awards; Anoraand the musical Wickedwith seven; and the film about Bob Dylan A complete strangerwhich will be eligible for six golden masks, which will be awarded on February 16 at a ceremony in London.
