The first part of his presentation included pictures of the villages and people who live in the area at the foot of the mountain. Club members were then treated to a series of stunning photos taken at various stages of the climb.
Members were shown photographs taken of the rainforest, the heath vegetation zone, the alpine desert and finally the summit zone.
George gave a fascinating insight into the logistics of getting a large group of people to the top of Kilimanjaro and also getting them back down safely.
After a question and answer session, club vice-president Rodger Shearer thanked George for an entertaining and informative presentation filled with high-quality images.
Judging of the second season’s print competition will take place at the next meeting on Thursday, December 5. The judge will be Campbell Skinner from Greenock Camera Club.
Motherwell Photography Society meets on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm in Holytown Community Centre.
