Radical Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, a fugitive from Indian law, is now in Pakistan and has attended and delivered sermons at many Islamic conferences.
At one such conference, when a Pashtun girl asked him about the prevalence of drug addiction, adultery and pedophilia in a ostensibly Islamic religious society, he pointed at her.
Asked his question, Palosha said: “Where I come from, it is an Islamic religious society. Women do not leave their homes without need and stay at home. Men do not miss namaz.”
“They also attend Friday sermons. Everyone’s social behavior is based on religion. In your wisdom, what could be the reason that drug addiction, pedophilia and adultery have taken root there?” he asked.
“What reason can you give as to why our society is collapsing and why the ulema are not calling them out, especially the pedophiles?” he finished his question. However, Zakir Naik attacked him.
“You say Islamic women don’t go out of their homes without need. I don’t go out without need either. Men shouldn’t go out without need either,” Naik said mocking the girl.
“You said that your society is Islamic and there are pedophiles in your society. There is a contradiction. There cannot be a pedophile in an Islamic atmosphere. Either the first part of your question is wrong or the second,” he said.
“Which Islamic book supports pedophilia? You should instead say that your society sees it as Islamic, then I understand,” Naik said, pressuring the girl to ask such a question.
