The Law Society has teamed up with Teal Legal to deliver an online seminar for estate agents covering essential information.

The webinar will be hosted by Sally Holdway, Director of Teal Legal, joined by two members of The Law Society’s Transfer Committee, Mark Sellers and Sarah Dwight.

The session will talk about essential information requirements and how they offer the opportunity for closer cooperation between real estate agents and lawyers.

It includes a deeper dive into some of the more practical elements that arise as new requirements begin to be met. These include, among others:

· Overlap between “material data” and “mediating data”.

· How lawyers can support agents in obtaining and verifying material information

· How TA forms can be used for essential information purposes

· Prior guidance to lawyers and how this works in practice, and

· New legal pre-offer services that solicitors can offer, such as title correction services.

Sally Holdway, CEO of Teal Legal: “We are delighted to be supporting The Law Society in developing this training for estate agents.

“The new material information requirements have raised many practical questions about the smooth and efficient implementation of the changes, and this seminar aims to bridge the gap between legal requirements and practical implementation.”
The session will be held on 31 July and Estate Agents interested in attending can register their interest at: https://learn.lawsociety.org.uk/product/ta6-update-for-estate-agents-wednesday-31-july- 2024/
