Karl Lagerfeld is coming it was created by Isaure Pisani-Ferry, Jennifer Have and Raphaëlle Bacqué. The series follows the life and success of a famous fashion designer. Daniel Brühl, who has won several awards as an actor, plays the role of Lagerfeld.
Rotten tomatoes
Rotten Tomatoes critics aren’t its biggest fans, unfortunately Karl Lagerfeld is coming. They give this biographical drama a slightly poor score of 60% (at the time of writing).
According to the Guardian’s Leila Latif Karl Lagerfeld is coming a perfect set for people who don’t know high fashion. “It’s an accessible series and you don’t need to know much more than a few names to enjoy their beautiful dresses and biting humor.”
Decadent and boisterous
“(The series) looks fantastic. It’s raunchy, decadent, saucy, jealousy-filled, high-society, competitive, high-stakes jokes. Soundtracked by Diana Ross’ killer outfits and bravado.” said Victoria Moss of the London Evening Standard.
So why were many critics still unimpressed? Decider’s Joel Keller explains this: “We’re not even sure there’s enough conflict to create drama for people who are genuinely interested in Lagerfeld’s history.”
