Borja Jiménez and the picador Alberto Sandoval reap more awards for their performances in San Isidro | Culture

The right-handed Borja Jiménez has been declared the winner and author of the best work of the last San Isidro Fair, and the Salamanca picador Alberto Sandoval has won two of the three prizes awarded by the Madrid club El Puyazo: for the best luck in rods and to the prize with the most transmission, the latter worth 500 euros, for his performance against José Escolar’s second bull on the afternoon of June 4. Likewise, the first third fans integrated into this association have chosen the Fuente Ymbro livestock farm as the most notable in their encounter with horses.

On the other hand, the Madrid Casino has also made public the bullfighting awards that it grants annually on the occasion of the San Isidro fair in which it also recognizes the picador Alberto Sandoval.

– Winner of the fair and author of the best job: Borja Jiménez.

– Revelation bullfighter: David Galván.

– Bravest bull: Bastonito, by Baltasar Ibán.

– Best lunge: Isaac Fonseca.

– Art of bullfighting: Diego Ventura.

– Best punch: Alberto Sandoval.

– Best pair of flags: Joao Ferreira.

– Best bullfighter: Roberto Martín Jarocho.

– Special mention for the risk removal: Juan Carlos Rey, for which he did on May 30 to the picador Israel de Pedro in the third of rods of the first Alcurrucén bull.

Las Ventas schedules a contest of five nocturnal bullfights during the month of July

On the other hand, the Las Ventas company has closed the posters for the five nocturnal bullfights that will be held in Madrid every Thursday from June 27 to July 25.

These bullfights, which will begin at nine at night, are what make up the fifth edition of the ‘Cénate Las Ventas’ contest, organized in collaboration with the Community of Madrid, which offers the halls of the square to promote some of the products gastronomic dishes with designation of origin of the province.

As a curious fact, this Madrid novice competition has the presence this year of up to four bullfighters from a bullfighting family, such as Manuel Caballero, Manolo Vázquez, son and grandson, respectively, of the bullfighters of the same name, Bruno Aloi, son of Mexican bullfighter Giovanni Aloi, and Santiago Esplá, son of the bullfighter Juan Antonio Esplá.

– Thursday, June 27. Pedro Gallego and Manuel Caballero, who appear in Madrid, and Bruno Aloi (steers from La Guadamilla).

– Thursday, July 4. Álvaro Sánchez, Álvaro de Chinchón, who make their debut in this arena, and Carlos Domínguez (calfs from López Gibaja).

– Thursday, July 11. Santiago Esplá, Valentín Hoyos and Rubén Núñez. All three appear in Las Ventas. (Portuguese steers from Couto de Fornilhos).

– Thursday, July 18. Manolo Vázquez, who makes his debut in Madrid, Fabio Jiménez and Mario Navas (steers from El Cotillo).

– Thursday, July 25. Steers from Talavante and El Freixo for the three finalists chosen by a jury in the four previous celebrations.
