Four bullfights, a bullfighting celebration and a mixed bullfight make up the bulk of the 2024 Bonfire Fair, which will be completed with two practical classes with students from the different bullfighting schools. The Fair will begin on Sunday, June 16 and will end on Monday, the 24th, the festival of San Juan.
Among the combinations, the one-on-one between Manzanares and Roca Rey stands out, and Enrique Ponce’s farewell to the Alicante public. On the other hand, Victorino Martín’s cattle ranch repeats, after the success achieved in the last edition of 2024, and with two of the swords highlighted last year against this same division, Rafaelillo and Manuel Escribano. The novelties of the cycle are represented by the Sevillian Borja Jiménez, who closes the shortlist of Victorino’s bullfight, and the young bullfighter Marco Pérez. On the other hand, Morante returns, who could not perform last year due to his physical problems after being announced.
The presentation of the posters, which took place in the Blue Room of the Alicante City Council, was attended by the mayor of the city Luis Barcala, the councilor of the Bullring, Mari Carmen from Spain and Nacho Lloret, responsible from the company Eventos Mare Nostrum, manager of the Alicante bullring.
Lloret stated that, “the best way to defend bullfighting in the face of so many attacks is to make the best possible posters so that the fans and society in general continue to come to the bullring.” The businessman added that, “it is a pride that bullfighting figures and ranchers have Alicante as a reference place in which special things happen.” Finally, Nacho Lloret stated that the head-to-head between Manzanares and Roca Rey, “is the best poster that can be scheduled today in our plaza, but I do not want to downplay the rest, such as Ponce’s farewell, the return of Morante, Victorino’s bullfight, etc.”

Friday 21. Sebastian Castella, Alexander Talavante and Daniel Luque (Zachary Moreno’s Bulls).
Saturday 22. Manzanares and Roca Rey, hand in hand (Bulls of Jandilla/Vegahermosa, Victoriano del Rio/Bulls of Cortés and Daniel Ruiz).
Sunday 23. Enrique Ponce, Morante de la Puebla and Tomás Rufo (Daniel Ruiz).
