Nederweert – Last Sunday, April 21st, members of the Nederweert War Cemetery Adoption Graves Foundation welcomed Moira Martin from Denny (Scotland). She visited the grave of her husband Ernest’s cousin, Alexander Martin. Unfortunately, as the adopter of the grave, he could not be there during the emotional visit due to health reasons.

Moira was accompanied by one of the foundation’s adopters, Fiona Haanen, and mutual friends Ann Dromgoole and Sjaan Knoops. As always, a performance by Pipers Society Castle d’Aldenghoor bagpipers provided an impressive musical backdrop.

Alexander Martin is buried in the same row as six other crew members from the crashed plane. Read more about the Eygelshoven accident on New Year’s Eve 1944 here.
