Charli xcx may be The Moment according to her new movie but her taste in homes sways just as much between period as it does zeitgeist.
From a Tudor in the Hollywood Hills to a pared back London base, the singer’s property choices are as savvy as they are stylish.
Born in Cambridge and raised in Essex, Charli’s younger years were spent in a small village near Bishop’s Stortford. However, she moved to London in 2010 to attend UCL’s Slade School of Fine Art.
Whilst studying she was also working on her debut album and playing warehouse parties across town.
The trajectory of the Brat singer’s music career ties in with her property empire. When success beckoned she invested in a Victorian terraced house in Chelsea that she later went on to list for £2.35 million in 2020.
The five-bedroom with a south-facing garden terrace, built in 1891, was renovated by Charli but always retained a classic feel.
Marble countertops, porcelain tiles, natural oak floors and a tiered stone bathroom complemented the period features.

In 2023 Charli, who has released Wuthering Heights, a 12-track soundtrack album for Emerald Fennell’s 2026 film adaptation, decided to swap west for east and bought a home in Hackney.
Described in an interview with The Face as “a simple, white, terraced flat” with minimal decor, it acts as the singer’s UK base with most of her time spent in Los Angeles.
Her interiors include the obligatory Ligne Roset Togo couch, a heavy wooden coffee table and stacks of books by Rachel Cusk, Sean Thor Conroe and Barbara Marstrand.

They followed the ceremony with dinner at Italian restaurant Dalla on Morning Lane and drinks at Ellie’s bar in Dalston.
Hollywood calling: the Tudor-style home with all the trimmings
Charli’s first major US property purchase came in 2015, when she bought a 1920s Tudor-replica house in Beachwood Canyon for around $2.8 million (£2.2 million).
Built in 1927, the four-bedroom property had all the romance of old Hollywood including dark timber beams, diamond-pane windows and brick fireplaces.
The exterior housed a red brick and stucco facade, stone courtyard and numerous brick patios.
When she opened the doors of her home to AD shortly after moving in, she did see the funny side that she relocated all the way to California to buy a place that felt quintessentially British.
She was determined to put her own stamp on the house and decorated it with bohemian finds from estate sales in Palm Springs and secondhand stores alongside an impressive art collection.
She shared the home with three friends and held many a bash there. It proved to be more than a party pad and a worthwhile investment as she later listed it for $3.65 million (£2.8 million) in 2020.
