If you walk past La Peligrosa, located on Menorca Street in the Retiro neighborhood (Madrid), you’ll sense that it’s a Mexican restaurant. If you go in, you’ll immediately see that beyond the enchiladas and margaritas, there’s a door that leads to a temple dedicated to music. A place covered (literally) with vinyl records and cassettes by the greatest in history. There, in the heart of that rock and roll atmosphere, Stay True Records is recorded every week, a program presented by the former jury of Triumph operation and concert promoter Joe Pérez-Orive. The name of the project is no coincidence. Is there anything more authentic and original than a store that travels back in time and sells these analog formats?
This authenticity is also perceived in each of the guests (25 this last season). All of them are true to themselves, free of prejudices and oblivious to social conventions in order to show themselves as they are. And without fear of thinking differently. But not all of them are part of the music industry. It doesn’t matter, because that is the philosophy of the project: wherever they come from, any option is valid. Below, a journey through all the personalities who have been on the programme.
