Would you like to start painting but don’t know where to start? Do you want to enjoy your own creative space but can’t find the time? Do you think you don’t have enough foundation to be able to participate in a painting course, but would love to be part of one? If any of the answers to these questions have been yes, El Atelier Horizontal is your place.
My name is Lai Zaragoza and my intention with this course is to show you the fascinating technique of watercolor while that moment of painting becomes a place of enjoyment and relaxation.
From the first class, I will show you the watercolor technique, taking care of your relationship with the process, from the base and without rushing. We will begin by observing the stain and the paper, in order to generate a conversation with our materials. We will continue with the theory of color, the importance of knowing the light and the possibilities that our tools offer us (from the brush to the gesture) and the breadth of interpretation when painting. When our base is already solid, we will broaden our view by observing the work of different watercolorists. Throughout the course I will provide you with different tools to enrich your learning.
As you may have seen, it is not necessary to have painted with watercolors before to participate in this course, so no level is required to begin.
In order to properly assist you in the painting process, groups per class will not exceed 10 people.
The materials you will need for the course are: a few brushes, watercolor paper and a box of watercolor tablets. But don’t worry about that now, in the first class I will provide you with different types of all these tools so that you can calmly choose which ones you prefer to accompany you during this learning process.
