16 years old and up

This course is a hand extended to anyone who wants to enjoy painting, more specifically watercolor, regardless of whether they have prior knowledge or not. And the thing is… do we have to know in order to learn?

In our daily lives we have spaces to be in, both our own and shared. Even with social networks we come to be in contact with people we are not close to, but do we have private spaces beyond the daily rhythm in which to enjoy our company?

Since she was a child, Lai Zaragoza has always turned to drawing and painting as a place to go when she needs to stop, relax, or simply enjoy.

When he began his approach to teaching, he observed that there are people who distance themselves from creativity, claiming that they do not know how to paint and, therefore, closing the door to relating to this universe.

From the first class, you will teach the watercolor technique, taking care of the relationship with the process, from the base and without rushing. The first step will be to observe the stain and the paper in order to generate a conversation with the process. After that, we will give way to color theory, the importance of knowing light, the possibilities that materials offer us (from the brush to the gesture) and the breadth of interpretation when painting.

When the base of the participants is solid, their gaze will be enhanced by observing the work of different watercolor artists.

Throughout the course different tools will be provided to enrich learning.

In short, it is not necessary to have painted with watercolors before to participate in this activity, so no level is required to begin.

In order to properly serve those registered, groups will not be more than 10 people.

The materials needed for the workshop are: two brushes, watercolor paper and a box of watercolor tablets. In any case, in the first class different types of these tools will be provided so that we can calmly decide which ones are most appropriate for each of the participants.

To Zaragoza She graduated in Illustration in 2008 and has developed an extensive career as a visual artist. In 2013 she joined the collective of multidisciplinary artists Las Buhoneras with which she has carried out, among others, interventions and exhibitions at the CAC Málaga and at different festivals such as Miradas de Mujer. Her project, El Atelier Horizontal, has as its priority objective democratizing the creative, bringing the wonderful world of drawing and painting closer to all types of people, beyond the qualities they consider they have.
