Eating a croissant every day can be bad for your heart within a month. A recent study presented at the European Society of Cardiology conference found that a diet high in saturated fat, such as croissants, can increase the risk of heart problems even without weight gain.
Croissants are high in saturated fat due to their high butter content. An average croissant can contain nearly 7 grams of saturated fat, which is a significant portion of the recommended daily allowance for a 2,000 calorie diet. Saturated fats can raise LDL (“bad” cholesterol), which contributes to heart disease.
