The bullfighters Morante de la Puebla, Diego Urdiales, Daniel Luque, Alfonso Oliva Soto, Pablo Aguado and the young bullfighter Javier Zulueta make up the line-up for the bullfighting festival that will be held on October 12 at La Maestranza to benefit the Hermandad de los Gitanos and the Nuevo Futuro association and will serve as a tribute to Curro Romero in Seville.

The event has a poster by the painter Juan Valdés and was presented this Wednesday in the Maestranza bullring with the participation of the bullfighter Juan Antonio Ruiz, Spartacusevent coordinator.

Espartaco was accompanied by the elder brother of the Seville Madrugada brotherhood, José María Flores Vargas; the president of Nuevo Futuro, Mónica Gutiérrez Muñoz, and the manager of the Pagés company, Ramón Valencia.

The businessman from Seville stressed the importance of the event and referred to the doubts surrounding the presence of Morante de la Puebla on September 29 at the third bullfight of the San Miguel fair.

“On Sunday I called him, got in the car and went to Lisbon. I spent four long hours with him and I explained my plans to him,” said Valencia, who added that the bullfighter “is progressing adequately.” In any case, he specified that he had agreed with him that on Sunday or next Monday he would confirm or cancel his presence in San Miguel, taking for granted his presence at the festival on October 12.

It will not be known until next Sunday or Monday whether Morante will make the ring at the San Miguel Fair

The Pagés company has promised to immediately communicate the decision of the bullfighter, as well as his replacement in case he cannot make the ring; it also confirmed that if Morante does not fight, another bullfighter will be hired, which rules out the possibility that Juan Ortega could fight four bulls, in the company of Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza, who says goodbye to the Seville fans.

Espartaco, for his part, referred to the difficulties “in getting everyone to agree.” “Almost all the bullfighters we were counting on at the beginning have been announced, but Juan Ortega is travelling to Mexico and Diego Ventura and Borja Jiménez have the date of 12 October booked,” said the bullfighter from Espartinas. He acknowledged that he would have liked to join the procession on the day of the Hispanic Heritage, “but my current physical condition has prevented me from doing so,” he specified.
