MIXTURA is a series of concerts and talks curated by the Malaga label DISPAR for La Térmica in collaboration with Málaga de Festival (MaF). In each meeting, local and visiting artists explore common territories around music and words. MIXTURA takes place once a month in Room 005 of La Térmica, a multidisciplinary room converted into a stage space thanks to its acoustics and ideal dimensions to provoke close encounters between the public and artists. Meeting point, performances and debates – chamber music for the 21st century.

The monthly MIXTURA event in April brings about a meeting between the guitarist and producer Emil Saiz, who orbits between Porto and Madrid, and the electronic artist Ylia, based in Malaga after developing her career in Barcelona. Both move within what we could call “experimental atmosphere”, as the 3 LPs published by YLIA in recent years demonstrate: Bola del Desierto (Animah Records, 2018) together with Darío del Moral (Pony Bravo), Dulce Rendición (Paralaxe Editions 2020) and Ame Agaru, recently published on the Barcelona label Balmat.

At the end of the meeting, a talk will take place between both artists together with the producer, and head of the DISPAR label, Alejandro Lévar.

YLIA Producer, DJ and composer, Susana Hernández’s career begins in the effervescent Andalusian break culture of the 90s. She is a regular on the SONAR programming, has been part of the prestigious Red Bull Academy, is a live musician with the multifaceted Niño de Elche, and has just composed the soundtrack for the feature film ‘Second Prize’ by Isaki Lacuesta, a film that won the gold biznaga at the 2024 Malaga Festival.

EMIL SAIZ He employs sound manipulation to generate harrowing atmospheric textures and underwater soundscapes, with a deep belief in the power of sound to evoke emotion, stimulate thought and foster self-awareness. With a life dedicated to the stage, she is a member of Nothing Places, Teryl Kaiz, Oso Leone and Mucho, and has also lent her hands to artists such as Iván Ferreiro, Christina Rosenvinge or Zahara.
