Artist Maria van Dijk will be a guest on RBN’s Top 10 Hit Parade tonight, Friday 8th March. Maria graduated in fine arts from a university in her home country, the Philippines. After his studies, he worked as a special effects artist for a Japanese animation producer.

After marriage, she moved to Suriname because her Dutch husband lives here. Here, too, he is often busy with his passion for art. He represents Suriname on the IWS platform (International Watercolor Society), which has 110 chapters worldwide. This allowed him to perform in countries such as Greece, India, Russia, Bolivia, Ecuador, Iran, Turkey, Japan and the United States.

Maria has also won awards at international watercolor events, such as 3rd prize in Texas, USA. In addition, he was hired to take portraits of Suriname’s foreign dignitaries such as Ravi Shankar, Indian President Draupadi Murmu, and Suriname President Chan Santokh. As a foreigner, it gives him a wonderful sense of connection and participation to have his talent recognized in Suriname.

Tonight at nine o’clock he will be a guest on RBN’s top 10 hit parade via TV 5-1 where he will talk about the adventurous events surrounding his arrival in Suriname from the Philippines.
