The Plastics Hall of Fame, an American tribute to people in the plastics industry, is looking for connections to the rest of the world. In 2004, foreigners were allowed to compete for the nomination for the first time; and in 2025, an accompanying ceremony will be held in Germany, on the eve of K. People can register now.
The Plastics Hall of Fame class recognizes individuals, living and deceased, who have significantly influenced and promoted the plastics industry. Its purpose is to honor outstanding achievements in the plastics industry.
The Hall of Fame was revived in 1972 by Modern Plastics magazine in cooperation with the Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI). At first only Americans were recognized. With the increasing globalization of the plastics industry, there was also a need to recognize global achievements and innovations in this field. Therefore, the Plastics Hall of Fame began accepting international nominations in 2004 and currently has 235 members from 10 countries.
Every 18 months, new members are awarded as part of a ceremony. Plastics Hall of Fame Inc. Board of Directors. serves as a screening committee for proposals, which are then reviewed and voted on by current members.
Nominations are now open until the end of February 2025.
