WASHINGTON DC — Leanne H. Panduren, PE, President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board with ROWE Professional Services Company in Flint, was honored recently with an award for her community service by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).

ACEC’s annual Community Service Award recognizes engineers who have made a significant impact in their region through their volunteer efforts.

ACEC is the business voice of the nation’s engineering and design industry in Washington, D.C. and represents thousands of companies throughout the nation.

“Engineers are problem solvers, so when they see a community need, they’re often the first to help,” said ACEC President and CEO Linda Bauer Darr. “This year’s community service award winners have devoted countless hours to improving the quality of life in their area and we are all better for it.”

Panduren’s volunteer efforts are extensive and have been particularly meaningful as her community navigates the pandemic, serving as a member of Greater Flint Coronavirus Task Force on Racial Inequities. This cross-sector group of community leaders coordinating to address immediate and long-term impacts of COVID and other community issues on underserved populations.

Panduren has been active in initiatives to promote diversity in the engineering field and grow economic opportunity in her community. She has more than five years of service on the boards of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, the Flint and Genesee Group, Lapeer Development Corporation, Foundation for Mott Community College, and the GST Michigan Works Workforce Investment Board.

Additionally, Panduren serves as Chair of the Richfield Township Zoning Board of Appeals and on the Lapeer County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. She is also the engineer for the City of Davison.

The honor was presented at an awards luncheon during ACEC’s Fall Conference in Colorado Springs, Colo, last month.

Nominations for the award are made through ACEC’s 52 state and regional Member Organizations. ACEC’s Committee of Fellows evaluates the applications and selects the honorees.
