Actor Bill Cobbs, known for ‘The Bodyguard’ and dozens of roles in TV shows and movies, dies at 90 | Culture

American actor Bill Cobbs, known for his roles in more than 150 television series and films such as The bodyguard, died on Tuesday at the age of 90 at his home in California, his family announced this Wednesday. “A beloved companion, big brother, uncle, adoptive father, godfather and friend, Bill recently and joyfully celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by his loved ones,” his brother, Thomas Cobbs, wrote on Facebook, adding that he died “peacefully” in Your domicile.

Cobbs, who was born in Cleveland (Ohio, USA), spent eight years in his country’s army air force, as a radar technician, and had several different jobs before finally turning to acting, when he was 36. as reported by the specialized magazine Variety. And he adds that his first professional role was in Ride a Black Horse, in the New York-based theater company Negro Ensemble.
