The bullfighters Adrián de Torres, Sánchez Vara, Pepe Moral and Rafael de Julia, among others, return to the Las Ventas bullring this summer after a long and unjustified absence.
To this end, Plaza 1, the company that manages the Madrid bullring, has announced three bullfights – two cattle challenges and a competition – for the first three Sundays in September; in addition, the August line-up includes a bullfight for the Virgen de la Paloma festival, two bullfights for young bulls and two bullfighting shows for six bullfighters each.
The September posters are as follows:
Sunday 1st of September. A cattle challenge between bulls from Saltillo and Valdellán, for Sánchez Vara, Rubén Pinar and Damián Castaño.
Domingo, 8. Cattle challenge between bulls of Dolores Aguirre y Sobral, for Pepe Moral, Miguel de Pablo and Luis Gerpe.
Domingo 15. Livestock competition. Bulls from Concha and Sierra, Palha, Resina District, Castillejo de Huebra, Pedraza de Yeltes and Salvador Gavira García, for Rafael de Julia, Ángel Sánchez and Amor Rodríguez.

Domingo, 18. Bullfighting show. Sergio Domínguez, the Portuguese Moura Caetano, Francisco Palha and Paco Veasquez, the Mexican Emiliano Gamero and Andrés Romero (bulls from Passanha).
Domingo, 25. Bullfighting show. José Miguel Callejón, Sergio Domínguez, Roberto Armendáriz and the Portuguese, Ana Rita, who confirms her alternative, Miguel Moura and Duarte Fernandes (bulls from Benítez Cubero).
